Online Bark's History

Online Bark was started in 2005 but its history goes back much further than that. In 1987 Ian and Andrew Mercer launched North West Turf Ltd branching out from the more traditional farming the family had been involved in. North West Turf developed a reputation based on product quality and customer service. In 2003 North West Turf ventured into the online world, the first turf grower to do so.

Turf is a heavy product and the infrastructure required to move it overnight around the UK is also well suited to other complementary gardening products. Online Bark is part of this diversification, with its wide product range and the same great levels of service as its parent Online Turf. We are here are here to serve your needs.
